Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) may be considered for selected patients after appropriate assessment. Not every sinus problem requires an operation.
Treatment of long-standing nose and sinus problems
Treatment for chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps or an ongoing blocked nose depends on the cause of the symptoms and the results of your tests. Non-surgical treatment is enough for many patients. When there is a clear medical reason, surgery such as FESS may be discussed.
